The Luminous Pets was founded by Josie and Isiah in 2019 to create more inclusive pet products. Inspired by our cat, Ember, we blended valerian root (her fav herb) with catnip grown locally on sustainable farms.

We do try to make sure that each picture matches the product as best as possible.
We use organic and non-GMO catnip and valerian root locally grown in Washington State. Shipped from farm to our doorstep, it is freshness that you can see and smell.
A third of cats, mostly females, do not respond to catnip alone. The ability to react is based on a genetic receptor. More cats have the ability to react to valerian root.
Similar to catnip, valerian root is a stimulant when sniffed, leading kitty to bat, kick, and roll around with the kicker sticks.

All our kitties adore these! I got one from my local pride 2 years ago and it became my kitty, Prince Lune’s, favorite toy. Today I was back at Pride and found you guys again! Lune loves his new size up, and the owner was kind enough to give me the big one for the price of the little one. My cats can’t stop fighting over it! Even my shy girl Lyra who doesn’t normally play. Lune, Lyra, Ursa, and Tony say thank you!!

Had to get a new kicker toy because the cats wouldn’t stop fighting over the first one I got! Now they are fighting over the new one. My cats go crazy for valerian root, they used to steal my sleepy time tea bags because the tea blend had valerian root. Boo loves to kick (that’s him in the video) and Eliot usually doesn’t like to play (unless it involved chasing our dog across the house) but loves these kickers.

i purchased this mat from isiah at POP Cats Seattle 2026. as soon as i got home the cats knew they had a new treat! i really like this mat because it's washable. a lot of other catnip mats cannot easily be re-used. i noticed that our female cat liked and responded to the catnip-valerian blend -- she normally does not care much about regular catnip. the print is modern and pretty, and the mat is very well-made. thank you!!
Naga has about 20 different bandanas from here and it’s because they all look so amazing and are such great quality too! Thanks for keeping Naga so snazzy all these years! :)
We found Luminous Pets during the Portland Night Market and they gave us a sample of their valerian root blend catnip. Our cat does not react to regular catnip so when we gave him the bit of the sample, we were ecstatic to see him go wild for it!! Of course we had to order our own! Thank you so much for your sample, Tedward loves it!!
This is absolutely the best catnip ever! All of my guys love it. I also buy toys for all the cats at the shelter I volunteer at. I haven't come across a cat yet that didn't like it. They love it!!

Bar just loves the toys. Spraying helps him to continue to want to play with them. He throws one into the air and races after it when it falls. Great idea for the spray.
was looking for an Easter fabric. This was the closest. We are really into the holiday fabric :-). The quality is great!! I have Halloween and Christmas but will keep looking for anything that strikes my fancy.. I did buy one of the plaid ones, but it was bulkier than I prefer. But it is still gorgeous.
These are so well made. Tori received one for Christmas and I just had to get her a couple more so we can match!
This is my cat’s favorite one. I put it on my gray kitten and she loved it too, and it looks so good on both of them. I plan on getting more so they have more to choose from.

Both of our cats loved all of the products we purchased! The box they came in had our cat Gypsy trying to open it up herself! As soon as I opened it up, it was love at first sight and smell. When I brought some to Kiwi, she had the same reaction, instant love! This combines the smell of not only Catnip but Valerian. Years ago, clearly by accident, I saw what effect Valerian had on one of my cats when I was cleaning up some Valerian dust from some broken capsules in a drawer. My cat would try to get in the drawer every time I opened it up, long after it was cleaned. We love these products and I am excited to get some for friends and family now that I know where to get these great products! Thank you!
