The Luminous Pets was founded by Josie and Isiah in 2020 to create more inclusive pet products. Inspired by Ember's 🐈 love for valerian root, and our desire to support sustainable local farms, we found the purrfect blend.

✌️ Two options are available:

  • 0.5 ounces of catnip and valerian root packed into a recyclable metal tin
  • 1.5 ounces of catnip and valerian root packed into a Kraft Bag that is resealable

Why add Valerian Root to our Catnip Cat Toys?

  • A 1/3 of cats do not react to catnip, majority of those being female cats.

We use organic and non-GMO catnip and valerian root locally grown in Washington State. Shipped from farm to our doorstep, it is freshness that you can see and smell.

Why add Valerian Root?

A third of cats, mostly females, do not respond to catnip alone. The ability to react is based on a genetic receptor. More cats have the ability to react to valerian root.

How To Use Loose Leaf Catnip Blend

Toy Rejuvenator

If kitty has a favorite toy, pop it in a container with some of the loose leaf. Seal the container and let it sit overnight. The fresh scent of the catnip and valerian root will rejuvenate the toy.

Valerian root acts similar to catnip when sniffed, but it has stronger and longer lasting effects.

Kitty Snack

Organic and non-GMO, our catnip with valerian root is safe for kitties to eat. When ingested, the valerian root acts as a natural calmative. It is an herb commonly found in Sleepy Time Tea for humans.
